Healthy Lungs consists of a paediatric pulmonology practice at Life Vincent Pallotti, Cape Town. The practice is run by Dr Lakhan. She has experience in treating children of all ages, and prides herself in helping her patients in a kind and caring environment. She spends time taking a careful history and doing a thorough examination on the child. This ensures that the correct diagnosis is made, so that the appropriate treatment is given. Dr Lakhan will also guide any necessary tests that may be needed.
She spends a lot of time explaining, answering questions and counselling parents and families on the nature of their child’s condition. Most children she sees have been sick for a long time and she acknowledges that this causes a lot of anxiety in the family unit. Reassuring parents and educating them about the nature of their child’s condition is integral to her practice philosophy.
